17th International Peatland Congress

The 17th International Peatland Congress (IPC 2024) will be held in Taizhou, Zhejiang Province, China, from August 4 to 9, 2024. The congress is sponsored by the International Peatlands Society and organized by the Northeast Normal University, the Chinese Academy of Forestry, Taizhou University, the China Humic Acid Industry Association and the Taizhou Peatland Research and Development Center.

The proposed theme for the congress is “Peatlands in a changing world”. The event aims to provide a platform for scientists, entrepreneurs and other stakeholders on peatlands to stimulate the exchange of knowledge, best practices and new ideas on the multiple functions and conservation of peatland biodiversity from a global perspective, advocate for responsible use of peat and peatland resources, and recognize the economic, environmental and social values of peatlands from a sustainable perspective in a changing world.

Attendees will have the opportunity to collaborate and discuss a variety of topics, including:

Ecological functions, conversation and management of peatlands.
Peatlands and human life.
Technical innovation in the peat industry.
Tropical peatlands and much more!

In addition to a variety of interesting sessions, several networking events are also planned throughout the week.
