In this report, UNEP calls for exponential increases in ambition and action in 2025. Countries must pledge and achieve colossal reductions in greenhouse gas emissions in the next round of Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs), which is expected in February 2025.
They must start providing the necessary funding for climate change adaptation, combating desertification and action for biodiversity. They should also work together to agree on a robust instrument to end plastic pollution before UNEA-7 in December
