State of Finance for Nature 2022

Detalles

This report quantifies public and private finance flows for nature-based solutions and the extent to which funding flows are aligned to respond to global challenges related to biodiversity loss, land degradation and climate change. Current investments are compared with the investments needed to meet the objectives of the Rio Conventions under the United Nations Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD), the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) and the UN Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD). This report is the second in a series that aims to inform public and private actors on whether progress in financial flows is in line with globaltargets and the investment needed to limit global warming to below 1.5 or 2°C, halt biodiversity loss and achieve land degradation neutrality. It also offers high-level recommendations on how to increase financial flows towards nature-based solutions and improve alignment with nature-positive outcomes.
