| One of the main objectives of Biodiversa+ is to improve the monitoring of biodiversity and ecosystem services in order to provide data for indicators that inform policy. In this context, this new report provides an overview of the indicators used and needed for the main European and global biodiversity objectives and policies. The report outlines priorities for the work on indicators, which include habitats, ecosystems, invasive alien species and species within the EU Habitats and Birds Directives. Work on indicators related to global goals and targets within the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) is highly prioritized. The report also highlights current and planned work on biodiversity indicators among partners, with a focus on sharing good practices and developing guidelines for governance. |
