Nature Market Principles

Detalles

This document sets out a set of science-based voluntary principles for investment to support high-integrity natural capital markets in the UK, which can serve as a reference for other countries and regions.

The Principles can be used voluntarily by all market participants and to assist with policy development. It aims to support the long-term development and operation of markets for high-integrity, high-quality, high-impact nature restoration and enhancement in the UK. They are designed as an interim measure, to influence current market practices and contribute to emerging government policies and regulations. They also seek to support and augment, rather than replace, widely accepted policies and develop national and international codes and standards, including the work of BSI (formerly the British Standards Institute).

The existence of the Principles can also help shed light on bad practices.
