| The aim of this event was to demonstrate momentum at the highest level to rapidly translate the ambition to halt and reverse biodiversity loss into tangible and impactful action. During the event, several ambitious countries and non-state actors showcased national and international actions, both on land and in the ocean, to ensure the successful implementation of biodiversity agreements, including the Global Biodiversity Framework (GBF) and the Biodiversity of Areas Beyond National Jurisdiction (BBJN). The event focused on actions to implement the goals of the Leaders Pledge for Nature (LPN), High Ambition Coalition for Nature and People (HAC N&P) and Global Ocean Alliance (GOA), in particular around increasing resource mobilization from all sources and repurposing current harmful incentives (including subsidies), and the conservation and protection of at least 30% of the planet's land and ocean resources by 2030. |
