This guide includes recommendations to investors for developing a biodiversity investment policy. The document includes:

■ Arguments for investors to act on biodiversity.
■ Suggestions to help investors create an organisational approach to this topic.
■ The different types of policies that investors can develop; and 
■ Specific elements that may include an overall policy commitment.

The content is based on desk research, including analysis of the biodiversity policies of the IRP signatories, interviews with signatories, and the views of the PRI Reference Group on Nature. 

The guide should be read in conjunction with the PRI guidance in the publication "Developing and updating a responsible investment policy: A technical guide", as well as other PRI resources on biodiversity, such as "An introduction to responsible investment: Biodiversity for asset owners".
