Materials of the Technical Training Cycle “Solutions to exercise the due diligence established in the EUDR”
From the December 30, 2024, companies regulated by Regulation (EU) 2023/1115 concerning the placing on the market and export of raw materials and products associated with deforestation (EUDR), shall ensure that the products in its supply chain are legally sourced and deforestation-free. Micro and small enterprises, except if they market wood products, may do so from June 30, 2025.
This Regulation imposes due diligence obligations on importers, exporters, traders and domestic producers and processors of the products listed in its Annex 1 in order to operate on the EU market.
Faced with this challenge, the Spanish Business and Biodiversity Initiative (IEEB), together with the Sub-Directorate General for Forest Policy and the Fight against Desertification of the Ministry for the Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge, has organised a training cycle of three technical webinars in order to guide the sectors regulated by the EUDR Regulation.
This training cycle has been supported by the AL-INVEST Verde programme, funded by the European Union, which provides technical assistance to the Latin American public sector through the International and Ibero-American Foundation for Administration and Public Policies (FIIAPP) and the Italian-Latin American International Organization (IILA).
During the cycle, AL-INVEST Verde presented some of the solutions it supports in Latin America to facilitate compliance with the EUDR Regulation in the EU.
In addition, the cycle also had the collaboration of the European Forest Institute (EFI), an entity recognized for its experience in supporting adaptation to the EUDR in producer countries.
Below, we detail the sessions that have taken place within the framework of the Training Cycle “Solutions to exercise the due diligence established in the EUDR” and the associated materials:
