TNFD Additional Guidance for Financial Institutions and Biodiversity Footprinting Webinar

Detalles

Recently, the TNFD announced the first 320 organizations from 46 countries that have committed to nature-related disclosures based on the TNFD Recommendations.

This announcement marks the beginning of a new phase of work for the TNFD:
– Raise awareness of the importance of companies and financial institutions acting on nature loss and expand voluntary market adoption of TNFD.
– Encourage organisations to start assessing and disseminating nature-related aspects
– Work with a network of global partners to build market capabilities through a range of education, training and data initiatives.

To carry out the next phase, work will be carried out on five technical lines of work throughout 2024:

  • sectoral orientation,
  • transition plans and objectives,
  • capacity building,
  • measurement and data, and
  • alignment of standards.

The TNFD will organize a series of focus groups, workshops and consultations with scientific experts and market participants to hear and discuss feedback on the TNFD’s draft sectoral guidelines and identify ways to improve it.

To encourage the revision of the guidelines, two webinars are planned for March, specifically on publications open for consultation for the financial services sectors (7 March) and another for the draft sectoral guidance (March, date to be confirmed).
