Nature for Life Hub

Detalles

Over the past four years, UNDP, UNEP and the CBD have worked with partners to raise awareness and mobilize global action on nature. As we face urgent and unprecedented challenges to our planet’s biodiversity, it is essential that we take collective action to protect, restore and sustainably manage ecosystems around the world.

The Nature for Life Hub 2023 will serve as a vital platform to help drive the implementation of the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework (GBF). The Centre acts as a catalyst, bringing together stakeholders from governments, civil society, academia and the private sector to exchange knowledge and innovative solutions, create and collaborate, and increase awareness and ambitions of countries to deliver on their National Biodiversity Strategies and Action Plans (NBSAPs). Together we can safeguard nature for future generations and ensure a sustainable and resilient future for all. The three main themes of this year’s Nature for Life Center are as follows:

– Identify leverage points to preserve the planetary safety net and implement the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework.
– Achieving an economy that is committed to nature: Transforming political, social, financial and economic systems to create incentives for an economy that takes into account the values of nature.
– Promote appreciation of nature throughout society: Encourage inclusive collaboration and engagement to fulfill our shared responsibility to protect nature.
