Nature Based Solutions Conference 2024

The event seeks to develop an action agenda to scale up nature-based solutions so that they support socio-ecological flourishing and enable positive change. Over three days and eight sessions, the conference will bring together interdisciplinary researchers with practitioners and decision-makers from the public and private sectors to discuss and co-create an action plan for nature-based solutions to support positive socio-environmental change. It will examine the evidence of the holistic benefits of nature-based solutions beyond carbon, in particular for human and ecological health, adaptation, humanitarian crises and food security; addressing issues related to uncertainty, permanence and the role of adaptive management in resilience; and explore how to deal with uncertainty about the socio-ecological outcomes of nature-based solutions and ensure that governance, markets and finance support their integrity. It will also discuss how we could transform the economy so that it improves, rather than undoes, the web of life, learning from indigenous peoples around the world, including on how to rekindle the human connection with nature.
