Nature-based solutions (NBS) are socio-ecological arrangements that benefit both humans and non-humans and their living environments. Although the importance of nature-based solutions is already well recognized, the intertwined dynamics of social and ecological processes and, above all, their importance for governance are still not well understood. Little attention has also been paid to how nature can inspire governance. The Beskydy 2024 workshop explores nature-based governance from a co-evolutionary and co-creative perspective, responding to the views of people and non-humans, and to achieve more effective transformational pathways towards inclusive and resilient communities. Beskydy 2024 “Nature-based governance: Coevolutionary and transformative perspectives on the biodiversity and climate crises” will be organised around the four themes contained in the Earth System Governance Science Plan 2018 and the research agenda of Horizon Europe’s COEVOLVERS project: focused on the co-evolutionary approach to unlock the transformative potential of nature-based solutions for more inclusive and resilient communities. |
