On November 22, from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. CET, the launch of the course in Spanish “Valuing nature and people to inform business decisions” will take place, available for free through the Coursera platform.

The course guides users through tools to include the value of nature, people, and society in business decision-making. This training offers a great opportunity for professionals from companies and other organizations who want to better understand their relationship with nature, people and society, and who are looking for practical guidance to include the value of nature, people and society in decision-making. As it is an online training, it can be followed at the desired pace and at the most convenient time.  

The Capitals Coalition presents the launch of the course in Spanish “Valuing nature and people to inform decisions”, available for free on the Coursera platform. This training provides a great opportunity for professionals from companies and other organizations who want to better understand their relationship with nature, people and society, and who are looking for practical guidance to include the value of nature, people and society in decision-making.

Throughout the course, students will immerse themselves in the concepts of natural, human, social capital, and social capital.

This course consists of four modules:

  • The first module helps to understand how companies can contribute to solving our shared global challenges and introduces concepts about natural, social and human capital that help achieve this.
  • In the second module, the concepts of natural, human and social capital are deepened. Examples are provided of how a capital assessment can be used to inform decision-making and how stakeholders can be involved throughout the process, both inside and outside the organization.
  • The third module explains what is needed to define an objective and determine the appropriate scope for a natural capital assessment.
  • The third and fourth modules focus specifically on natural capital and how to start taking steps to conduct a natural capital assessment and will show how to determine which impacts and dependencies are the most important and should be considered in an assessment. Finally, it will also address how to measure and assess impacts and dependencies provides guidance on how to apply the results to transform strategic decisions.

The event is organized by the Capitals Coalition and its Spanish regional hub , the Natural Capital Factory, promoted by Ecoacsa.
