Business and Biodiversity Forum at COP16

On 27 October, the Business & Biodiversity Forum will be held in the framework of COP16, a forum designed to explore the intersection between business activities and biodiversity conservation. This event will bring together business leaders, policymakers, sustainability experts and civil society representatives to discuss the critical role the private sector plays in protecting biodiversity.

The Business & Biodiversity Forum will offer a series of sessions focused on the opportunities and challenges companies face as they integrate biodiversity into their business models. The sessions will cover topics such as measuring the impact of business activities on biodiversity, implementing ecosystem restoration strategies, and developing innovative solutions that enable companies to be part of the solution to the global biodiversity crisis.

Some of the key sessions include:
• “Financing Nature-positive Business”, where they will discuss how to mobilise investments and create financial mechanisms that promote biodiversity.
• “Mainstreaming Biodiversity Across Business Sectors”, which will address how different industries can integrate biodiversity into their operations.
• “Business Leadership for Biodiversity”, a space to share success stories and innovative business practices that have made a positive impact on conservation.
This forum will not only be an opportunity to share experiences and establish collaborative networks, but also to define the role of companies in meeting the Global Biodiversity Framework (GBF) and contribute to global ecosystem restoration and conservation efforts.
