COP28 is the most important climate event of the year. Companies prepare announcements, tighten their emissions reduction targets, and plan new investments. Ultimately, it aims to prepare companies to stay ahead of climate commitments at a time that is vital for long-term survival. Economist Impact’s Countdown to COP28 event aims to support professionals ahead of the conference, where the link between climate change and biodiversity will be key. To this end, the event will bring together experts from fields such as business, civil society and youth climate action to examine the themes of this year’s COP and offer practical ideas on how to move faster so that better decisions can be made for business and the planet. The meeting will take place in a hybrid format from October 2 to 5, 2023, and can be attended in person or virtually.
