This conference is part of the IWA Specialist Group lecture series “Wetland Systems for Water Pollution Control”, which is a biannual lecture series that acts as a global forum for discussion and knowledge exchange on the status of scientific and practical development and application of natural and built wetlands and other nature-based solutions to provide quality improvement of water, other co-benefits and ecosystem services. Some of the main topics of the conference are:

  • Wetlands in urban environments
  • wetlands for water reuse,
  • wetlands and circular economy,
  • wetlands for water pollution control, and
  • wetland conservation and restoration and climate change
  • other topical issues such as wetland intensification, removal of emerging organic pollutants, wetland co-benefits, modelling, and monitoring and remote sensing.
