| Building on its global work on nature, Pollination has published this user guide for businesses to take action and be ambitious in the transition to nature-positive. Global frameworks and initiatives, such as the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework (MGBKM), the Nature-related Financial Disclosure (TNFD) framework, and the Science Based Targets Network's guidance for setting nature-related targets, are rapidly increasing regulatory and reporting expectations at the national and subnational levels. which will shape the business response to the nature-positive agenda. This report outlines the steps companies can take to respond to the nature-positive agenda and remain competitive in their changing operating environment. The document provides practical guidance on how to design and implement a nature-aligned business strategy. Six key principles have been defined that companies can apply to future-proof their corporate strategy, namely: • Principle 1 – Integrate goals for people, nature and climate. • Principle 2 - Apply a holistic definition of nature. • Principle 3 - Apply the mitigation hierarchy to contribute to being nature-positive. • Principle 4 - Contribute systemically to nature-positive action. • Principle 5 - Identify and act on priority locations. • Principle 6 - Work towards an overall net gain in nature. |
