The Ministry for the Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge (MITECO) has published the Manual for Green Public Procurement of the General State Administration with the aim of facilitating the adaptation and application of the Green Public Procurement Plan within the scope of the General State Administration.
This manual contributes to the adaptation and application of the Green Public Procurement Plan of the General State Administration, its autonomous bodies and the managing entities of the Social Security (2018-2025), whose application is led by the Undersecretariat for the Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge.
This plan responds to the need to incorporate ecological criteria in public procurement, which will allow administrations to promote and contribute to the objectives of economic and environmental sustainability in the development of their activity. Specifically, it includes a series of general environmental procurement criteria, of a voluntary nature, which may be incorporated into the procurement specifications such as selection criteria, award criteria, technical specifications and special execution conditions.
