Future of sustainability standards – CEE Sustainable Finance Summit

Detalles

The EU's Sustainable Finance Agenda has pioneered the development of new standards for financial reporting and instruments. Although the United States has been slower to implement sustainable finance principles, this issue gained momentum after the last U.S. election. At the same time, the politicization of the EU taxonomy has left European leaders breathless when it comes to setting standards for sustainable economic activities.

• What are the most urgent actions and what can be done in the short and medium term to improve the "alphabet soup" of standards, frameworks and ratings?
• Is there hope of ensuring alignment between EU and US standards?
• How can we ensure that reporting is meaningful and useful to the financial sector and regulators on both sides of the Atlantic?
• Will IFRS and ISSB solve existing problems?

The speakers who participated in this round table discussion addressed all these topics moderated by Nadia Humphrey, Commercial Manager of Sustainable Finance Solutions. The panel was composed of Eila Kreivi, Chief Advisor for Sustainable Finance at the European Investment Bank; Mardi McBrien, CEO of the Climate Disclosure Standards Board; Ingmar Jürgens, Managing Director, Climate & Company and Maud Gaudry, Partner at Global Sustainability Services.
