On 19 June 2024, the Protocol on the State of Ecosystems (EC Protocol) was launched through an open information webinar.

The webinar focused on:
- The needs that would be covered by the EC Protocol;
- The guiding principles of the governance of the EC Protocol;
- A first mapping of the questions to be answered by the Protocol and of the existing sources of information;
- First impressions of the initiative and objectives of the Protocol;
- Links to biodiversity credits and business needs.
