The new EU Regulation on Deforestation (EUDR) came into force in mid-2023 and marks a crucial moment for producers and exporters to EU markets. On January 23, 2024, from 10:00 to 11:30 Guatemala time, Preferred by Nature is hosting this webinar, which will address why the EUDR is crucial for the Latin American region. The new regulation aims to reassure EU consumers that the products they buy are not linked to deforestation or forest degradation. This binding regulation will enter into force on 1 January 2025 and will oblige European companies to demonstrate that their supply chains do not contribute to deforestation or forest degradation. In addition, it will also help ensure compliance with applicable laws in the countries of production. In this free webinar, you will gain insight into the implications of this legislation for producers and different actors in the supply chains of the forestry and agricultural sectors, specifically for livestock, cocoa, coffee, palm oil, soybeans, and wood products. A framework to strengthen sustainability and address new market regulations By covering key sustainability issues, it aims to strengthen management systems through a risk-based approach. It has been thoroughly reviewed and adjusted to incorporate relevant indicators, ensuring alignment with EUDR requirements. |
