ICLEI World Congress 2024

In June 2024, the ICLEI network will meet at the ICLEI World Congress 2024, organized by the city of São Paulo, Brazil.

Every three years, the ICLEI World Congress shows how local and regional governments in our network are driving sustainable urban development around the world. The last world congress began in 2021 with a virtual launch and culminated in 2022 with the Malmö Summit.

In 2024, São Paulo will host three days of networking and knowledge exchange. It has been designed to invite participants on a journey of reflection and vision for the future, emphasizing the critical challenges and opportunities faced by cities, towns and regions due to increasing global risks and changes.

The program is aimed at representatives of local and regional governments, urban professionals, researchers and interest groups with a concern to exchange and learn about best practices in sustainable urban development.

Through high-level plenary sessions led by international personalities, visits to special destinations in São Paulo, immersive interactive workshops, networking opportunities, and an expert-led research symposium, the ICLEI World Congress 2024 is an action-oriented event that will ensure a space for local and regional government representatives and urban practitioners to experience the power of reconnecting to achieve sustainability goals.
