7th BioTrade Congress

Co-organized by the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) and its partners, the congress is a global event that brings together experts and practitioners in trade and biodiversity for a high-level exchange on key issues related to the linkages between trade and biodiversity.

Under the theme “Global Governance for Trade and Biodiversity”, the event will discuss the global governance of trade and biodiversity, and how trade can become an accelerator to implement the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework (The Biodiversity Plan) through the practical implementation of sustainable trade.

The Congress will also include exchanges and case studies on biodiversity and the socio-economic impact generated through trade in biodiversity-based products.

This event is part of the activities planned by UNCTAD and its partners ahead of the 16th meeting of the Conference of the Parties (COP 16) to the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD).

The topics of the Congress will include, among others:
