3rd Annual Sustainability Reporting Summit

Detalles

City & Financial Global’s 3rd Annual Sustainability Reporting Summit, to be held on January 31, will delve into the first two ISSB standards, which are a major step towards establishing a global baseline for ESG reporting. While the rules are based on the foundations and structure of the TCFD voluntary framework, they go much further, focusing on all ESG-related issues, not just climate. They will also be mandatory as national authorities adopt them for reporting in their markets.

The programme brings together a unique line-up of speakers who will discuss key issues for companies preparing to implement the rules and for investors who will need to analyse investee companies’ reports prepared in accordance with the rules. The evolution of sustainability reporting at international level will also be examined.

For companies, the challenge is to determine where the standards apply in their organisational structure and, more importantly, how the ISSB standards fit in with the new EU rules and US climate regulations. They also need to understand materiality in terms of their sustainability program, their organization, and their suppliers (the latter because Scope 3 emissions are included in the standards). Finally, they need to carry out a gap assessment or readiness to determine what needs to be done to move from the current situation to the one needed to comply with the rules.
