At the regulatory level, the roadmap and actions to be developed are detailed in the Marco Mundial de Diversidad Biológica, Estrategia Europea de Biodiversidad 2030 and Plan estratégico estatal del patrimonio natural y de la biodiversidad 2030. All of them include measures aimed at the private sector.
In this context, companies are called upon to understand how their economic activity interacts with nature, both in terms of impacts and dependencies, and to act accordingly. The financial sector will also play a key role by recognizing positive investments in nature as a competitiveness factor for their portfolios.
Objective
The Spanish Business and Biodiversity Initiative seeks to promote the integration of nature into business management by providing a space for dialogue between the public and private sectors, where knowledge can be shared and forms of collaboration can be found to drive the restoration and conservation of nature.
