| This article discusses the relationship between climate change and biodiversity loss. It provides a summary of the context of the Convention on Biodiversity (CBD), leading up to the Global Biodiversity Framework reached at COP15 in 2022, along with its main objectives. It considers how climate and biodiversity policies are aligning: both through formal UN processes (UNFCCC, CBD) and through dynamic initiatives by non-state actors and subnational governments. E identifies ten key areas where COP28 could mark the start of transformative actions for the climate and biodiversity agendas. |
