Standards of practice to guide ecosystem restoration: A contribution to the United Nations Decade on Ecosystem Restoration 2021-2030
Detalles
| The United Nations Decade on Ecosystem Restoration 2021-2030 aims to prevent, halt and reverse ecosystem degradation and restore biodiversity and ecosystem integrity, improve human health and well-being, including the sustainable provision of ecosystem goods and services, and mitigate climate change. To create a shared vision for ecosystem restoration, the UN Decade partners, through a consultative process, launched ten principles to achieve the highest possible level of recovery through restoration projects. To facilitate the application of these principles and for nature and people, this document provides key recommendations for all phases of restoration projects. These recommendations are applicable to the wide range of restoration activities included as ecosystem restoration under the UN Decade, in all types of ecosystems (urban, production, cultural, semi-natural and natural) and restoration projects, from community-led voluntary initiatives to nationally funded and resource-intensive projects. |
