The Observatory is a non-mandatory, non-exclusive and legally non-binding tool that can support operators, traders and competent authorities of the Member States in their EUDR risk assessments.
Since the launch of the Observatory in December 2023, the Joint Research Center (JRC) has engaged intensively with relevant stakeholders, including in third countries, to explain the methodology used and increase the accuracy of the information provided.
