This meeting will focus each day on a main theme: production, transformation, distribution and consumption and will make it clear how organic production is present, and increasingly, throughout the food system. As an enclave, Extremadura has been chosen, an autonomous community with a fervent interest and constant work of associative networks, and also of academia and research, in the promotion of organic production as a model of production, rural development and food consumption. The region is known for its extensive agricultural and livestock tradition, which currently has 3258 operators and an organic area of more than 109,000 hectares in the organic sector. This places Cáceres in 6th position in the state ranking , with 3.86%, according to 2022 data from the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food). The event will take place in Cáceres, at the San Francisco Cultural Center, an emblematic and historic building that will become a stage for analyzing the productive challenges of the ecological and agroecological sector as well as facilitating the exchange of experiences and transformative initiatives based on agroecology, from the local to the international. |
